Welcome to the 2008 Season of Team AVX Bikes Racing Team and Cycling Club. We currently have approximately 100 men and women in the Club, including racers and recreational riders of all levels. Our goal is to provide our members an opportunity to find like-minded individuals to ride, race, and recover with. So whether you're a weekend warrior just looking for riding partners, or an aspiring racer participating on the road, track, or cyclocross course, Team AVX Bikes invites you to ride with us!
- Racing Team -
Our inaugural 2007 Season was very successful, with three Team AVX Bikes racers winning Georgia State Championships, and several others competing for Georgia Cup Jerseys with podium finishes. We expect to improve upon our 2007 successes in approximately 35 races during the 2008 racing season, including, but not limited to, the Georgia Cup, Athens Twilight Crit, the Georgia Games, Ford Ironman Championship and the Tri the Parks Triathlon Race Series.
- Cycling Club -
Even if you don't plan to race, Team AVX Bikes is a great way to meet other riders in the Atlanta area. We are a very social bunch who ride hard and play hard. Last year our club riders participated in recreational events such as the Project Adventure Kids Covington Century, the Beautiful Backroads Century in Cartersville, and our annual ride up Brasstown Bald to watch the Tour de Georgia riders suffer their way up "The Wall."

- Group Rides - During the prime riding season, you can find our club members participating in one of the daily group rides around town, or ride out on our own. Every Monday during Daylight Savings Time, Team AVX Bikes has a very relaxed recovery ride leaving at approximately 6:30 pm from Atlanta Velo Exchange on Collier Road, the premier supplier of high-end road bicycles in the Atlanta metro area. In the "off-season," many of our riders meet on Sunday mornings for the Airport Ride and other weekend rides.

- Message Board - We operate a lively message board at www.avxbikes.com, where members can discuss upcoming group rides, races and race training, and find out what special deals Rich of Atlanta Velo Exchange may be offering.

- Beer:30 - A MUST. We are also a very social bunch. Every Friday evening, we ... carbo-load ... for the upcoming weekend by indulging in Beer:30, our club happy hour.

- Racer Benefits -
Those riders who meet minimum race requirements are eligible for additional benefits, such as reimbursement of entry fees and travel expenses for races outside Atlanta.
- Cost -
Membership in Team AVX Bikes Racing Team and Cycling Club costs only $35/year. When you buy the Team AVX Bikes kit at the reduced, team-only price, the membership fee will pay for itself.
